The camera at the site is an [http://www.axis.com/products/cam_232dp/index.htm Axis 232D+]

From the site computer you can access it via [http://192.168.0.90/]:

To manually drive the camera:

Pan "X" (Example, change the last number so alter coords):
curl "http://192.168.0.90/axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?camera=1&panbar=194,horisontal&barcoord=?149,9"

Tilt "Y" (Example, change the last number so alter coords):
curl "http://192.168.0.90/axis-cgi/com/ptz.cgi?camera=1&tiltbar=194,vertical&barcoord=?13,75"

Little script to point the camera is at ~cues/bin/pointimage... tho I still need to figure out exactly how the coord system works on the camera. Entering the same coords over and over actually shift the camera so movement may be relative to the current position rather than based on some absolute...?

UpRadiometers:
~/bin/pointimage 180 180 180 50

*X,Y=0,0 points at the Whites, support bar on left side of screen.
*X,Y=90,0 -> MidChalet/Chair-1
*X,Y=125,70 -> UpRadiometers.
*X,Y=115,0 -> Minarets.
*X,Y=135,0 -> San Juaquin Ridge
*X,Y=180,180 -> Support Pole.
*X,Y=90,180 -> MidChalet/Chair-1
*X,Y=45,180 -> Pond/IBeam

Zoom (this doesn't actually werk, trying to get some info on how to zoom):
http://192.168.0.90/incl/specialzoomcmd.shtml?camNo=1&zoombar=178&coord=?139,15

Get an image:
curl "http://192.168.0.90/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=4CIF" -o foo.jpg
curl "http://192.168.0.90/axis-cgi/jpg/image.cgi?resolution=4CIF" -o CUES-`date +%Y%m%d-%H%M`.jpg

On 20090910:
<pre>
Firmware version: 4.41.1
MAC address: 00:40:8C:89:47:DC
==VNC over SSH==
Getting onto the system from the outside:

I've got the site system accepting VNC connections via an SSH tunnel. Here's a good [http://fotinakis.com/blog/blog/2008/secure-mac-screen-sharing/ VNC over SSH HowTo].

That's designed for the Mac but you'll get the idea. Username is "cues".

The key bit is the login tunnel:

ssh c...@8.12.165.155 -L 5900:localhost:5900

Then, on the Mac anyhow, you'll fire up a VNC session (Command-K from the Finder) and enter:

vnc://localhost:0

==LiDAR==
===Power Cycling the LiDAR remotely===
*ssh c...@192.168.0.254
==Post 2010 Notes:==

Heated Sonic Anemometer: $5500
*Aiming at winter 2011 installation, waiting for budget stuff before purchase.

Precip Guage (Bert has no faith so unless it's free, bail on this):
*Folks at Mt. Washington have [http://www.geonor.com/precipitation_gauge.html something] that werks, Kerry looking into wind shield and pricing.
*Jesse also had this to add:
<pre>
re:on Precip gauges:

http://www.logotronic.at/en/produkte/sensoren-fuer-die-meteorologie/niederschlagschneehoehe/122-160.htm
http://www.fondriest.com/products/hydreon_rg-11.htm
http://www.skypowerinternational.com/shopcart/productlayouts/ProductsList.asp

And the one I was really in favor of trying a couple years ago...

http://www.thiesclima.com/disdrometer.html

Pulling the Dynamax soil moisture probes is a really really good idea for re-cal / check out.
Just wanted to remind all that the sleeves were not used due to the dryness of the soil normally, Mike McClung of Dynamax recommended not using them for this application when we installed them originally.
</pre>

Soil Moisture Probes:
*Need overhaul and re-installation w/ tubes.
*Also these [http://www.decagon.com/products/sensors/soil-moisture-sensors/ units] for less than $150 each that both Jesse and Kerry recommend.

Snow Pillow: $10K
*Bert saw something that looked reasonable at AGU
*Jerry Johnson has his setup.

Overhaul tipping bucket mounts.

==Chores:==
*Paint remote boom and re-do depth markings so we can see them from the camera.
*Reinstall soil moisture probes.

System name is CUES-Mini, it's at 192.168.220.251 on the MMSA Employee Net and at 72.67.190.65 from anywhere. SSH is the only port forwarded to the system from the outside.
==VNC over SSH==

The key bit is the login tunnel:

ssh cues@72.67.190.65 -L 5900:localhost:5900

Then, on the Mac anyhow, you'll fire up a VNC session (Command-K from the Finder) and enter:

vnc://localhost:0

==LiDAR==
===Power Cycling the LiDAR remotely===
*Get onto the CUES system at the site (SHOULD work from either the Mac or Win system)
*Open up a cygwin or command terminal.
*ssh cues@192.168.0.254
**standard passwd you should all know.
**It'll take a short while to login and then give you a "Sentry" prompt.
*off
*LiDAR
*wait 5 seconds or humm the Jeapordy Tune.
Pulling the Dynamax soil moisture probes is a really really good idea for re-cal / check out.
Just wanted to remind all that the sleeves were not used due to the dryness of the soil normally, Mike McClung of Dynamax recommended not using them for this application when we installed them originally.
*Need overhaul and re-installation w/ tubes.
*Also these [http://www.decagon.com/products/sensors/soil-moisture-sensors/ units] for less than $150 each that both Jesse and Kerry recommend.
